#ArtEverywhere: December Bulletin Board

My December bulletin board.

Ok, so it’s the end of January. I guess it’s time to take the December bulletin board down.

*Sigh.*

I really needed this bulletin board this year. I’m not sure why. It was our first year out of lockdown. Our first year really getting to be with family for the holidays. It should have been the most super-sparkley-tastic holiday ever.

But it wasn’t. Somehow, it seemed darker this year than usual. More stress. More cold. Less magic. Less joy.

So, I wanted to do something over the top to try and snap me out of my funk. I wanted lights, and sparkle, and shiny, and… I wanted to capture a little bit of that childhood winter sparkle. If I didn’t feel it, by golly, I was sure going to make sure everyone else did!

And, shockingly, I think I managed. It’s not the most amazing bulletin board I’ve ever seen. I definitely noticed all the flaws. The little places I wish I had done things better, or differently.

But, all the kids who walked past had to stop and look. They all wanted to talk about what they saw. (Which is really saying something because a good number of them are non-verbal or only slightly verbal.)

Maybe I was still pretty Grinchy, but I helped everyone else feel a little brighter, and, really, isn’t that what #ArtEverywhere is really all about?
